Ban on Unnecessary Single-Use Plastic on Campus

In compliance with 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘕𝘰. 9003, 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 2000, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘕𝘰. 9512, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 2008, Bohol Island State University - Candijay Campus will implement a ban on single-use plastics starting 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.


As per 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘕𝘚𝘞𝘔𝘊) 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘕𝘰. 1363, 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 2020, the following materials are considered as unnecessary single-use plastics:

1) Plastic cups (lower than 0.2 mm in thickness)’

2) Plastic drinking straws;

3) Plastic coffee stirrers;

4) Plastic spoons;

5) Plastic forks;

6) Plastic knives; and

7) Plastic labo and thin-filmed sando bags (lower than 15 microns)


This initiative aims to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices within the campus. All faculty, staff, and students are advised to bring their own tumblers, tupperware, and other reusable alternatives to minimize plastic usage.


The campus community is encouraged to actively support this policy to help protect the environment and foster a more eco-friendly campus.
